Today I am at home in Cottonwood.
The Elegant Bean in the Holiday shopping center. The shop got new owners 4 years ago yesterday. Today is truly my first day of Summer Break.
I spent last week painting my bathroom.
These are the after pictures.
My youngest daughter put in the new sink at Christmas.
She is a photographer, so her pictures of the new sink are better quality than the ones from my phone, but you can see what I covered up. 3 layers of paint later, I was able to turn the green into blue. I did the wood in another shade of blue. It was great to be able to match the hamper color exactly. It was very satisfying to have a clean bathroom with all the Mold "Kiltzed".
This summer I am working on a community base map with the country. It is an unpaid internship, but my name will be on a National Map for ESRI when it is all done. I have been able to keep my skills sharp while I wait for a job.
All the kids are busy with one project or another. My oldest has got a driver job for NAPA Auto parts while she is learning to drive a school bus this summer. She has plans to drive and repair school buses in the fall. Number 2 daughter is enjoying her summer as a camp counselor at Mountain Meadow Bible Camp. She was home for a too short weekend. Number 3 daughter is trying to keep busy with friends, helping with two different VBS's (Vacation Bible Schools), a college class online and scrap booking. She painted her room last week before I did the bathroom.

She also got to display her artwork fro her classes this last year in the "AFTER" picture.
My girls are all so talented in their own way.
My boy is spending the summer playing catch-up with summer classes. He told me this week that when a boy is 12 or 13 he forgets anything he knew and when he turns 16 he realizes that his is 2 years from being kicked out and needs to get his act together. I am glad he is now 16.
So, my summer now will be spent staying cool. I will try to finish the base map project before mid July. We have VBS at our church July 16 - 20. I am painting signs for that as well. Free hand lettering is time consuming, but satisfying when it is finished.
Tomorrow I plan to start walking a trail near my son's summer school.
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
